Party Preference
Most Americans should choose “Democrat” or “Republican”, since nearly 90% of Americans predictably vote along party lines. Although most people like to think of themselves as “Independent”, when asked “Which party do you USUALLY vote with?” they will answer “Democrat” or “Republican”. When asked, “When was the last time you voted for someone from the OTHER political party?” they will often answer “Never.”
Of course, we hope your party preference will evolve to become “Other”, but for baseline data we’d like to know what your political preference is TODAY. Today’s Libertarians usually vote Republican, but 1972 Libertarians leaned more toward the Democrats.
